Disclaimer: I Was an employee for nearly 6 years I stuck it out and believe that my evaluation is pretty accurate because I didn’t just hire on, stay for a bit and then leave. , In the beginning it was a really good company, senior staff that has been there for awhile really took care of the drivers and ensured that loads were happening, pay was fair and the driver felt appreciated.
That all changed a few years ago when most of those with any seniority or those who had the desire to take care of the drivers were fired, or left because of the work atmosphere.
One of the first things that was said to me was we are a family and we stress Family First… all that went out the window and it became about making as much for the company as you could.
You will see plenty of posts about driver appreciation and it used to be that drivers were given gifts or brought into a terminal for driver appreciation, the posts still continue but the difference is the appreciation gifts went away and the driver appreciation meals are all office staff while the drivers are out running.
Dedicate pay has been $210 for about 5 years, seems like a great pay rate until you realize they are going to run your full clock, have you do a split and when you add it all up you end up making $9.00 an hour. THEN watch for you to be dropped down to miles pay for the week because you didn’t get a full 5 days of running in, even if it was cause by slow freight. Having to call the owner to make it right was ridiculous. Dalton always made it right but the fact it took that much effort to get the right pay was unacceptable. Read other reviews and you will see it’s common practice.
Staff: lots of good staff, including Dalton who runs the company, however there are still a few that shouldn’t be employed there..
Phil the driver manager who stated when my mom passed “ oh that sucks but that’s the circle of life” Phil you are truly a clown.

Great equipment and some pretty cool people are on staff but others who have been there are more concerned about loads and will pretend to appreciate you and all you do until you decide to move on. Don’t expect a good luck in the future or thanks for what you have done. You’re now just a past employee who has decided to leave.
Do your research and read the reviews, you will see many of the good comments are from those who recently started and the ones like this are from those who spent many years running for WEL,

Before joining WEL Companies, I was already well aware of their incredible reputation in the industry. Both customers and carriers consistently spoke highly of their reliability, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. Now that I’m part of the team, I can confidently say that WEL exceeds expectations in every way.

From day one, the company has maintained a strong focus on communication, team collaboration, and continuous improvement. They truly care about the success of their employees, offering the support and tools needed to grow in our roles. The leadership here is second to none, always approachable and dedicated to ensuring that we have a positive work environment.

Whether you're a customer, a carrier, or an employee, WEL Companies delivers an unparalleled experience. I’m proud to be part of such a reputable and forward-thinking organization. Highly recommend WEL to anyone looking for a great company to work with!

Awesome equipment. Awesome dispatch. But if you have family at home that you enjoy being around and don’t want to be on the road 7 days a week you won’t make a decent paycheck. I was on a dedicated route that should be paid hourly due to no miles and sit more than you drive

I'm not one to be rude but I don't appreciate being lied to and talked to like I'm stupid. Yes I have a mental disability but it doesn't affect me seeing how I have been driving off and on for 20+ years. I don't appreciate being discriminated and I'm trying to be patient and let them do the right thing but after the way I was talked to today I am really really tempted to file a discrimination lawsuit. I really like WEL company and it hurts me to do this but I don't have any other option.

I don’t blame this driver for parking illegally but his attitude was horrible and could get him serious hurt . It was parked across a row of trucks and I could not get out so I asked him nicely but he barley moved so I asked him again and he became hostile and told me to wake up drivers who were in legal parking spots make them move it took over 20 minutes to get out of my spot because he kept creeping forward and stopping ! Please Wel talk to your drivers if they are going to park illegally they should be warned that drivers that are leaving have a right to ask them to move .

STAY AWAY This company is absolutely terrible to work for! My sister dedicated years of her life to them, not only to be fired, but to also have her driving record completely and what was believed to be an amicable departure. They pretend to care about you to your face, but behind closed doors that characteristic is nonexistent! And let's not forget, she's a melanated queen trying to succeed in the trucking industry. Who in their right mind would want to work for a company that is so malicious?! But you know what? God has bigger plans. Again, @everyone, exercise extreme caution. You have been warned...

FYI... The people putting 5 star reviews right after someone gives a negative review, are current employees trying to keep the algorithm up...... STAY WOKE!!¡!

Started WEL a year and 7 months ago, fresh out of school. I Would have never said a bad thing about the company. I had great DMs, and pleasant exchanges with most people I met.. 9/20 I was let go. It was completely my fault and I took complete accountability for it. We ended amicably. Never in a million years Would I expect this company to put 5 ACCIDENTS on my DAC Report. You wouldn't have even kept me as a driver having 5 Accidents. I had 1 accident 2 weeks out of class involving an illegally parked truck. But for this company to try and ruin a GOOD Drivers opportunity for work by changing company "incidents" to ACCIDENTS on your driving record is PURE EVIL.. That's Why your CSA Scores are steadily dropping because that's evil. I know Quinn and the Other guy knows the state laws, but Ethical and Moral Law needs to be retaught.. Thankfully my Attorneys know them...
