So imma be 100 percent honest . The pros of this company are that they care about safety. I came in like 2 years ago through the CAT program and they are big on safety during training which is great. It helped me be better with pre trips and backing and everything safety related . Also another pro they pay for your rental to drive up here , they pay for your hotel for 5 weeks and they pay you every week while your here training which for me was great . Now the negatives, the cons are this location is filled with people who are rude and disrespectful to minorities . They talk crap about the students behind their backs . They even set students up to fail . They try to get rid of as many people as possible . I'm not going to say that they are racist but there is definitely some discrimination that takes place here. I experienced it first hand and witnessed it against another student. 1 of the instructors was talking bad about a student and their religion. Now I will say this , I had a few good instructors . Ralph , Brian , and James were great instructors. They were great . If everyone in the company was like them the company would be great . They made my experience better. However the reality is that I had almost everyone there try to set me up to fail from the beginning, even the dude in charge Charles or Chuck was against me . And the ONLY reason i showed them up , and passed every obstacle and ended up passing the program was by the grace and mighty power of God Almighty Jesus Christ . Without God I would not have made it . They try to make people fail here , they do not care about you at all. My advice is to go to a different company to get your CDL especially if your not a white person . They treat minorities bad here. I witnessed Instructors talk crap about other students and literally heard them say that they can't wait for certain students to fail to get sent home don't come here unless you have absolutely no other option . Evil people , corrupt company . Only come here as a last resort .

I enjoyed the training course. Some of the instructors were really nice and friendly. However they are super strict on safety. The tests are all open book and simple, but if you fail a test more than three times they will haul you back to the hotel and ask you to collect your things. It was crazy seeing them do this but I understood why. Simple tests, reasonable reaction. If you do not read or write in English fluently you'll have a problem here. Some of my classmates had a hard time with understanding what was being said and written as well as following along with walkthroughs, some of the staff lost patience and it was obvious. But again, I understand why .

Make sure you can read, write, and speak English fairly well before attending this class. Or they will send you packing, sorry to say.

I was thankful for the hotel stay they paid for as well as the bus ride to and from their classroom. Free breakfast and lunch was welcomed but not eaten. Not to hate on the free lunch but sometimes they had some awful catered meals that weren't nice. But I did enjoy their snack bar lunches the most.

I appreciated the hands on training but when it came to learning with an instructor over the road... That's when I started disliking the training. I was working with a fella who works 14 hour days some days. He gets paid per load where as I was only getting paid 100 or less a day. So that meant I was basically working for 7-8 dollars an hour while my instructor got paid for the loads I delivered. Now yes I get it was training but I still did the work and they had the audacity to pay me less than minimum wage? After my week or two my pay would have gone up to regular pay but man was I disappointed in the training pay. My instructor didn't really drive, hook or unhook. He walked me through what to do but that's about it. He was a nice guy. I decided not to continue with this low paying training course and decided to look elsewhere for work as I was more interested in a home daily schedule.

So thanks for the opportunity Schneider but please play better for over the road training. Seemed a bit unfair.

I called the recruiting line and it disconnected me three times on the fourth time a recruiter answered and said that there were no jobs because Freight was slow. When I asked her why free was slow she hung up. Really crappy company and I can see why there are a lot less Schneider trucks on the road than 20 years ago

Terminating employment at this critical juncture, when medical release to resume work is pending, demonstrates remarkable insensitivity. This decision would not only deprive me of my sole income but also undermine my efforts to rebuild a life disrupted by cancer's unwelcome presence and its profound physical and emotional consequences. I didn’t ask for a cancer and recovery don’t have a date or time just like getting is doesn’t have a date and time .

I heard rumors around town that this place practices ageism out of all the places I was told to apply to when I moved to Green Bay a year ago. This was not one of them. Frankly the word around town about this place is nothing good. I see now that they actively pursue and only hire fresh faces out of college I was shocked.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Schneider offers something different to everyone.
For some it is good,
for others… well…

Schneider offered me the opportunity to lease purchase a new truck, and to book my own loads. The deal was made sweeter with an $8,000 sign-on bonus because I live in the southeast.

Sounds awesome right?

My new truck wasn’t the truck I placed my deposit on, and it also comes with a hefty $1375 weekly payment. SFI did the old bait & switch!

Schneider’s loads coming out of the southeast do not pay anything! Currently, the majority of loads on “my” load board going anywhere pay less than $1.50 per mile.

Schneider does an “all-in” rate to hide that they do not offer me fuel surcharge.

The $8000 was honored, I was given $1600 each for five months, but if you think that you are going to do something awesome with that money…
Fa-get about it!

If you are new to trucking, Schneider offers the cold cruel reality of what trucking has become.
You don’t have a camera in your face, that might be the only plus.

If you are like me, been in the driving game for 12 years and needed a new or another truck to “keep it pushing,” DO NOT COME TO SCHNEIDER!

Schneider offered me:
Super high weekly payments with 3-year term.
Low paying loads, I cannot afford to go home.
Lots of deadhead miles reducing your bottom line.
No fuel surcharge!
The current fuel discount is $.36 at Pilot.
Communication is not the best here, hold times are long, or, you wait for a call back.

But if you like “drop & hooks,” there are hundreds of them here. But, you often cannot find an empty where you deliver.

This may not be your experience with Schneider, but it has been mine.
Maybe being a “BCO,” and coming from the “Land” with the big blue “Star” spoiled me.

Either way, look before you leap!
