Perdimos 2 reservas de 200 euros cada una por no tener 2 tarjetas de crédito para alquilar un coche premium. Después de aceptar un coche inferior. El mal funcionamiento del datáfono para pagar hizo que nuestro banco nos bloqueara la tarjeta. Sin poder alquilar ningún coche. La mujer que atiende una déspota insinuando que no teníamos dinero para pagar cuando probablemente esa tarjeta tenga más del que habrá visto ella en su vida. Nunca más.

Do not use google maps to go to this location at airport. Look for ‘rental car’ signs. Driving to this location is not possible.

Did not get the car I booked despite arriving early and having made the reservation several months ago. Apparently they did not have it in at that time and did not want to honor my reservation even if I came back later! There was an exact car that I booked parked in the lot but the service person would not release it. Wanted to charge more for a smaller car.

I’m an emerald executive and I like National in US; worst service in Spain! I would stay away from National, Enterprise or Alamo in Spain.

Nov 11 2024 Update: After the above experience, someone from National, Enterprise, Alamo reached out to me about my experience and after hearing my story, she apologized and offered me a 25% discount which never came. I eventually ended up reserving another time with National/Enterprise/Alamo in Barcelona (I don’t learn unfortunately). I got a decent car this time after Ivan asked me to go back to the counter when I didn’t need to. They did their usual upsell pitch and I take my car. After driving about 6 hours (midway to Seville) the car displays ‘System Fault: please take it to workshop’. The car dies (with half tank of diesel in it) and I cruise to shoulder and park. I call roadside assistance multiple times (my rental included full insurance and roadside assistance) - no response. I send couple emails - no response. No response to my emails 24 hours later! The car started after some time with sn error that service is due and washer fluid is low. Pathetic rental company!!! Stay away!

Avoid if you can... You never receive cars with full tanks so that it is a pain in the... to bring it back at the same level. They charge in case it is just 1/12 below the previous level.

Avoid this rental. We booked a 7 seater, the flight was 1 hr delayed and they did not have the car anymore (or never had one) and forced us to pay extra for a 9 seater. The guy was super aggressive and when we started complaining he even refused to potentially give us the 9 seater! I have never experienced something like this. It is limit to fraud as at the end we were forced to pay or no car!!! It is the first time that I will follow up a complaint further as this is not ethical.

Fraudulent - Avoid!
Rented a car online via Expedia from inside the terminal. Walked over to collect the car a few minutes later and they tell me they don't have any of the cars I rented and offered me another at triple the cost. I refused and demanded a refund. They said to deal with Expedia for refunds. Expedia said National refused to refund Expedia but Expedia finally processed it anyway.
I can't believe the effort required to get a refund when they didn't have the car I paid for.

Canceled our reservation with no notice, very long wait with only a few customers in line only to be told it was canceled. Very very rude woman at the service desk. When I tried to show our reservation confirmation she interrupted me and told me it didn’t matter because “you paid for nothing”. (Since you pay once you pick up your car). I get it since our flight was delayed. When I asked if there were any cars available to start a new reservation I was interrupted again and lectured to about how they don’t just wait around for people to arrive and that the cars go as people come (ummm obviously! I was only asking if there were any available and was treated like I was asking for something special). I just wanted to know what was available…Went next door to Avis and was treated with respect and had a car within 20 minutes. This was on Tue June 29th around 2:30pm. This woman should be fired for such rude behavior. I treated her with nothing but respect and calm and expected the same in return. Will never use National again.
