***DO NOT RENT FROM HERE” The absolute WORST experience at this car rental place. You will be treated as a “less than” individual the moment you walk in the door. I was told “do not piss me off or you will not get a car”. Our vehicle broke down and so our situation was already high stress and walking into HERTZ Kearney they definitely want you you feel they are the boss, in control and that you are a less than worthy person to rent their vehicles. Very unprofessional. We went several blocks away to ENTERPRISE and got a HASSLE FREE and super easy rental experience. Now you know. Pic included of our super nice car from ENTERPRISE.

Only a private owned rental company with 4 cars. They do not do business with Corporate Hertz, so they don't assist with during rental service. Weren't open Sat or Sunday and had to wait until Monday only to be told this. Pretty disappointing.

Despite of all the other reviews, I had a great experience renting a car from this Hertz. I got along just fine with Amy too. She was very friendly and helpful, and other employee was very helpful too. This Hertz is a private own company so you will not able able to use/get some of the Hertz perks tho.

At first, I'd say never return a car to this location. Now, I'll say never rent for Hertz period. I rented a car for a day and returned it at this location. They said I returned it 2 weeks later than I did. Called this location and corporate to get this settled and nothing has happened. This location kept promising to return phone calls, and that never happened. Corporate said an investigation was happening, but I'm starting to not believe that. Pathetic customer service as a location and even worse customer service as a whole organization. If you want a stress free rental, then I suggest going somewhere. Hertz, and specficially this location in Kearney, NE, will scam you.

This has been the worst car rental experience of my life. Don’t ever rent from this smoke and mirrors rip off shop. I only needed the car for less than 1 day and Ken and Amy charged me $537+ for the nastiest tiny Kia sedan (if you could even call it that) and wanted a $500 drop fee for returning it an hour and a half away in Lincoln, NE. Wouldn’t work with me on any of the charges or dropping the car off early. Highly don’t recommend. Take Uber, hitchhike, or rollerblade. It will be less expensive and less stressful than working with these local scam artists. Even though I booked this car through the Hertz app, they were quick to tell me that they are not corporate Hertz. They are thrifty. Now looking at their other reviews, I see why. Stay far far away. This place DOES NOT deliver the Hertz experience

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. I hit a large animal on my way home from Oregon just outside of Kearny, NE on Friday just before midnight. My insurance company has a contract with Hertz for rentals, and set up a rental for me. This location is closed on weekends, so I had to get a hotel for 2 nights. Monday they refused to rent the car to me unless I stayed in Nebraska! My insurance company had already set this up and approved the rental. The company knew that I was stranded, alone, far from home, with no vehicle, and that I was having to check out of my room by 11 with no car and nowhere to go. The lady said, very rudely, "well, let me see if there IS something I can do for you, but I'm with someone so I will have to call you back." Then at nearly 10am she calls just to let me know that there is nothing they can do to help since I'm not planning to stay there in Nebraska. She said, "see, we own our vehicles, and we are protective of their mileage. " I only needed to drive 750 miles home. Then when my car repair was finished, I would have driven it back there, returned it, and drove my car home. That's less than a 2000 mile trip, for a fully covered insurance claim emergency car rental. I told hertz I was now missing class and still stranded thanks to them. I asked why they bother renting cars out if they dont expect people to drive them? Luckily, Enterprise in town was WONDERFUL! they originally didn't have a car available last minute til 2:30, but they managed to pick me up and have me in a car by 10:30! And, they even allowed me to drive my rental car home so I wouldn't be stranded! State farm had made the reservation on Saturday morning, so the corporate should have had the info that day. Hertz has a location at an airport 42 miles away open every day, but they refused to deliver it, and also refused to work with my insurance..... hertz should be ashamed of themselves, leaving a mother, stranded away from her family. I hope they get gout and diarrhea while vomiting on a date or at church.

This place is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever dealt with in Kearney. Conner and Darin are so inconsiderate. They called us 19 hours after dropping off our car and claimed there was a door ding. They charged us $118.04 on our credit card. After being hung up on twice by Conner, I waited. A month later I received my CC bill and called to get more clarification as to why my card was charged, I was hung up on again. My husband then stopped in to talk to Darin and all the sudden the charges changed from a door ding repair to retuning the car with an empty tank. For the record, the car was returned with a full tank and we have bank statements to prove it. Hopefully the Hertz company will refund as I have filed an official complaint with them as well. I recommend staying as far away from the rental car company as possible. They are crooks. Who ever owns this franchise should be ashamed!

Hertz's policy couldn't allow my mother or I to rent a vehicle. Before they told us that, Hertz wanted to charge at least $2,000 for 5 days rental plus another 30-35% in fees, so over $2,600.00 total. I finally had to ask for other rental options, and I have to recommend Enterprise at 1324 2nd Avenue in Kearney, Nebraska.
